Are all Color Printers CMYK?

Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as an RGB printer. Color reproduction in printing process is using subtractive color mixing in that colored ink or dye acts as a filter subtracting visible spectrum from the reflecting surface thus giving it color.

Conversely, additive color process create colors by blending different wavelengths of energy, as in the case of computer screen or stage lighting.

The fact is, ink-jet printers mostly use an RGB to CMYK conversion engine and are often treated as RGB devices.
